What is Tummy Tuck?
Also known as abdominoplasty (click here for more details), is one of the most famous plastic surgeries in the 21st century. A person usually undergoes tummy tuck in order to flatten her/his stomach. It is done by removing the excess skin that is usually caused by weight loss or after pregnancy.
The tummy tuck is performed by doing an incision which usually horizontal and takes place just within the public area, usually low enough to be hidden under the bikini line. However, it is important to note that is not always possible to hide the incision under the bathing suit lines.
Around 30% to 50% of the abdomen skin is removed and remaining is pulled down to cover the entire abdominal area. This then results to a much tighter stomach. Sometimes a new belly button is surgically created by umbilicoplasty but in most cases, the original belly button is just repositioned.
